The Pilates Room has a small team of instructors who work closely together to provide the best quality of classes for all our clients. All teachers have been trained and adhere to the highest standards of Pilates teaching. When you come and visit you will discover our intention is simple: whatever your age we want to change the way you feel and look so that you leave the studio feeling totally confident about your body and really refreshed in your mind. We look forward to meeting you.

I was first introduced to Pilates when I attended my first Pilates class in 2002. Pilates became an essential element to my life allowing me to improve my overall strength and muscle balance.
I made the decision to pursue a career in Pilates and in 2004 qualified as a Pilates Instructor and in 2009 I opened my own studio The Pilates Room.

 

I am a qualified Body Arts and Science International instructor. I have trained and attended several BASI symposium’s and workshops amongst others the Booty Barre, I am also a Registered Yoga Teacher.(RYS-200 Yoga Alliance). My personal interest has lead me to specialise in Injury Rehabilitation and Sports Performance and I have completed
a Pilates for Injuries & Pathologies Advanced Education Course. My aim
is to bring each client greater postural awareness, more strength and flexibility and a feeling of having reached their 
full potential.

My passion and appreciation of Pilates started whilst I was completing my National Dance Diploma at Tshwane University of Technology. Pilates was
one of the subjects.

Having being a student of ballet since the age of three and later adding acrobatics and various other forms of dance, it was immediately apparent how beneficial Pilates is to overall body alignment, precision, flexibility and strength.

I then went on to complete my Pilates course at Top Condition SA with Andrew and Debra Gush. I thereafter went on to learn from and teach alongside various experienced instructors, as well as completing further courses in Sports Specific training, Body Conditioning and pre- and post- natal Pilates.

I love teaching Pilates as it is  rewarding to witness the progress, benefits and mind / body awareness developing before me in the clients that that I teach.
